Rent

Ok, let's not talk about photography today (something new huh). :-D Let's focus on "mik toldoya" as an everyday life. Omit "photography" for now.

While I was very busy doing my homework few weeks back, my brother keeps on watching this movie called Rent. It's a 2005 musical film. An adaptation of 1996 broadway musical. Nice songs. Superb voices. One great movie. "Rent" is quite a controversial movie. Watch it. Not only you'll be touched by the music and voices, you'll love the movie itself. It's not something like "Sound of Music" or "Mary Poppins" musical films that we got used to when we were young. It's a film that's simply... touchy. Sorry, can't think of any other words to use. O:-) Ok, it's a movie of young friends struggling on issues like drugs, HIV, love relationship, and homosexuality. I'm not a good movie critic so just watch it. :)

Here are some clips. See how the songs and performances got my attention.

See what I mean? :)

Rent

Thanks for that one Mik, well 'Afro-American voice' is nothing to be surprise of--they are really superb, and same with their white counterparts in the movie. Rent touches the hem of morality that's why it was controversial enough to be criticized not mentioning law and order. The songs reflect the reality of how unfair life can be since we are living in a corrupt standardized society---it is our choice which to follow, what is right or not, what is good and ungood, what is proper and improper. But above all, it tells us that only love puts meaning to friendship or any kind of relationship--pleasing, rightful or not to the very eyes of the world.

Cheers, Rent tells us that life should be enjoyed --- half empty or half full! =)

Thank you, mhenkie! Well said! That was nice. See, I told you I'm not good with words. O:-) "Rent" is very nice indeed. Very meaningful. Touchy. Ok, there I go with that word again. :-D

Cheers, mhenkie, to life itself!
